Nov 3, 2011: (Thursday) 12-1 p.m. : Come join me at Quilting Arts Make It University at the International Quilt Festival in the George Brown Convention Center located in Houston, Texas. Learn how to make fabulous mixed media beads! If you are in the area, please stop by and visit, take some classes, rest your feet and make some wonderfully unique beads to take home with you. So much fun! I will also be doing an Open Studio Demo on Friday, November 4, 2011 from 12:40-2:40 p.m. where I will be making 3D fiber art palm trees and foliage. Come join the fun. February 24- January 2013:Generation Y: Song of Hope was chosen by the City of Austin Cultural Arts Division to be included in the 2012 People’s Gallery Exhibition at Austin City Hall. The opening reception will be held on Friday, February 24th from 6-9 p.m. at City Hall located at 301 West 2nd Street in Austin, Texas. Food and refreshments will be provided by Whole Foods and everyone is welcome to attend. Please join us. We would love to see you! This exhibit will be on display the entire year of 2012. Come see all the wonderful artwork by so many local artisans. It promises to be a fantastic exhibit. I look forward to seeing you all! Happy 2012! July 9, 2012: Lecture – Barb Forrister Trunk Show :Applying Color and Design to Cloth for the Chisholm Trail Quilt Guild located at the Georgetown Public Library 402 W. 8th St. in Georgetown, Texas, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Lecture will include different ways to add color and design by painting, dyeing, stamping and stencilling. July 10, 2012: Workshop with Barb Forrister, “Dyeing to Create” for the Chisholm Trail Quilt Guild, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This workshop will focus on dyeing fabric to create fabulous colors. We will experiment with both Full and Low Immersion Dyeing techniques, Graduated effects, parfait dyeing and marbelling of fabric. We will also continue with stamping and stencilling to create one of a kind prints on fabric. This class is geared for both beginning and advanced students.
